CHP Deputy Chairman Ünal Çeviköz’s Press Release on Attacks in New Zealand
We have learned with deep sorrow that 49 people were killed and 48 were wounded in the grave terrorist attack during Friday prayers to the Al Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. We condemn this racist and inhumane assault fiercely, pray for our brothers and sisters to God, and give our condolences to all New Zealanders. According to the official statements, we have two citizens among the injured, we wish them a speedy recovery.
Terrorism is a global threat that does not discriminate between race, nationality or religion and must be tackled by international cooperation all over the world.
We expect the perpetrators of the New Zealand attack to be captured as soon as possible and justice to prevail.
